OT? DLT4000 has come undone!!!

Thanks to everyone who had answered..
I finally figured out how to wind the beastie, and in the process
learnt how the tape-leader interaction can be so precariously based on
luck.. :-)

It is so astounding that for the tape noose from the cartridge to be
extended just so a couple of millimeters enough for the leader head to
snag it and for the hook to be retracted all at the same time. *wow*

Needless to say I spent many minutes watching the whole thing while
it's doing its jig.. :-)
