I was referring specifically to NYC [although I live outside of it] the
primary languages differ based on the neighborhood with large predominanly
Spanish, Chinese areas. In some of the neighborhoods you can actually walk
around an NOT see (almost) any signs in english, and the residents speak
english to level of fluenct that suits them
