Help! TU81 Plus tape drive problems.

   This is Very Bad! One should not hear 'a small arc' !!  charging 
capacitors does not make a noise...  ;{

  I would think the next step would be to aquire the engineering printsets 
and some expert assistance and remove, trouble-shoot, repair, and replace 
the Power Supply - I thinks it's woofed it's cookies on ya...
