I'm guessing that they're MIPS based systems like the DECsystem 5000 and 
3100.  From the "Installation Guide" that comes up as 3rd or 4th in a 
google search (and which I have a mirrored copy on my web site: 
http://computer-refuge.org/classiccmp/dec94mds/331aain1.pdf ), they 
look to be the size of a VAX 4000/200(-/700) and use s-box QBUS 
interface cards.
