February 19, 1963 MEMORANDUM TO: Users of 1401 Autocoder System SUBJECT: 1401 Autocoder System, Program #1401-AU-037, Version 3, Modification Level 6 This modification letter has been prepared for distribution to all users of the 1401 Autocoder System and contains changes to Version 3, Modification Level 5 of that system. These change cards, enclosed, listed and identified below (Attachment #1) are to be inserted in the system deck as follows: Card Number (Cols. 72-75) Place between cards in system deck ------------------------- ---------------------------------- C083-C084 C043-351 C085-C086 C050-454 C087 C055-499 Cards C083-C086 correct the tape redundancy error halts in Pass 2 and make them consistent with the documentation for 1401 Autocoder Version 3 Card C087 corrects an error where it was possible to have duplicate instructions processed when using tape input (80-character card images) to 1401 Autocoder. 1401-AU-037, Version 3, Modification Level 6 Page 2 The following minor restrictions or limitations are presently in effect with regard to the use of 1401 Autocoder: 1. When using the loadable tape option, signed DCW's following DSA's will not have the zone bits correctly assembled. 2. Indexing will be assembled on equated labels only as defined in the EQU statement itself. No indexing previously defined on the symbol appearing in the operand of the EQU statement will be retained. 3. When using the )00 code in the label field of of macro model statements, the label from the source program macro statement will be retained and transferred to the first model statement accepted. This transfer of label occurs, regardless of what type statement follows. We appreciate your cooperation in making these changes.
