December 21, 1961 MEMORANDUM TO: Users of 1401 Autocoder System SUBJECT: 1401 Autocoder System, Program #1401-AU-037, Version 3, Modification Level 1 This modification letter has been prepared for distribution to all users of the 1401 Autocoder System and contains changes to Version 3 of that system. These change cards, enclosed, listed and identified below (Attachment #1) are to be inserted in the system deck as follows: Card Number (Cols. 72-75) Place between cards in system deck ------------------------- ---------------------------------- C001 0453-0454 C002 0498-0499 C003 0908-0909 C004 0908-0909 Cards C001 and C002 correct an error in handling a missing tenth parameter in macro-instructions. Cards C003 and C004 correct an error in tape handling when re-iterating the label and operand phases (passes 5 and 6). A change from read to write mode on tape 6 was accomplished without an intervening rewind. The symbolic equivalents of the change cards are shown in Attachment #2. Use this sheet to update the listing you have obtained from the tape supplied by the Program Library. We appreciate your cooperation in making these changes.
