NAME
    vexit - cleanup for exit from virtual arrays

SYNOPSIS
    VOID vexit();

FUNCTION
    vexit() closes all virtual array files in an orderly mannor and
    returns.

RETURNS
    nothing.

EXAMPLE
    vexit()

BUGS
    vexit() doesn't do the correct thing for SCRATCH files which are
    currently treated as NEW files i.e. they are not deleted from the
    file system as they should be.
              
