$ ! on it.
$ ! Requires VMS V4.
$ ! 
$ LZD:==$[this directory]LZDCM
$! Edit the [this directory] to reflect where LZDCM is
$! or use the following:
$ copy lzdcm.exe sys$system:
$ lzd:==mcr lzdcm
$lzd -v gnemx.bzk gnuemacs.bck
$
$ Now GNUEMACS.BCK is a normal VMS Backup saveset and can
$ be restored to disk.
