Enhancement to ' SET /SPEED ' command The SET /SPEED commands of VMR and MCR have an unfortunate feature. The speed codes for external speeds on a DH-11 do not match syntacticaly. VMR must have exactly { EXTA | EXTB }; MCR is { A | B }. For example: SET /SPEED=TT42:EXTB:EXTA ( VMR ) SET /SPEED=TT42:B:A ( MCR ) To add to this, VMR exits if it processes a MCR format command, so we can't use both in one file and ignore the error messages. The only way out is to hack MCR to accept VMR format commands. This has turned out to be ridiculasly easy. Get into [12,10]SFDOV.MAC with your favorite editor, and find the 3 tables at the begining of the code. They have the labels CODES:, SPEEDS:, and SPDADR:. Add to each two entries for the external speeds, after the originals. In the table of ASCII speed codes add /EXTA/ and likewise for B. Below is an extract of the new file.
