CA. -- Catch-all task The catch-all task provides the following commands, in addition to those provided by MCR: DIR xxx Same as PIP xxx/LI. TYP xxx Same as PIP TI:=xxx. DEL xxx Same as PIP xxx/DE. PUR xxx Same as PIP xxx/PU CHD g,m Same as SET /UIC=[g,m]. CHD m Same as SET /UIC=[g,m], where g is the group of the default UIC. SHD xxx Displays login device and UIC, and default device and UIC. CA. xxx Print CA. version number and date. ED xxx EDT xxx,dd:[g,m]EDTINI.EDT. This executes EDT with an initializer file. The selection of this file is same as for TSK, CMD, and TEC files described below. When the command given is not recognized as one of the above commands, the catch-all task searches for a file whose name matches the first "word" of the command given, and has a file type (extension) of TSK, CMD or TEC. First your login UIC (actually protection UIC) is searched on SY0:, and if this fails the system UIC's are searched. If the command file parameters is given, and the file "file" is found on directory "dd:[g,m]", then a command is executed, depending on the extension of the file found: TSK RUN dd:[g,m]file/TASK=filTn/CMD="file parameters" CMD CAT @dd:[g,m]file parameters TEC RUN $TEC/task=filTn/CMD="MUN file parameters" Any command processed by the catch-all task may be preceded by a greater than sign, ">" or a question mark, "?". When the ">" is used the command is displayed before it is executed. When the "?" is used, the command is displayed, but not executed. RCASE This command is an aid to getting rid of the case conversion characters in old runoff files. It creates a new version of the file with case converted and case characters removed. It does a fairly good job, but some changes may be required after running RCASE (.LOWER CASE commands must be removed, etc.). REPEAT This command executes , times. The default EDTINI.EDT file starts editting in character (screen editting) mode and defines the following keys: GOLD E Exit (same as CTRL Z, followed by EXIT). GOLD Q Quit. GOLD I Include file. User is prompted for the file name at the bottom of the screen (a la SEARCH command). GOLD S Save file. User is prompted for the file name at the bottom of the screen. Saves the area selected (using the "." keypad key) to the named file.
