Impdat stands for important date. It is designed to remind a user of an important date previously entered into a file (impdat.fil) on his area such as family birthdays, anniversaries, annual business events, etc. When the program is run, impdat takes the current date from the system and searches the user's impdat.fil for any dates within the next week. If a match is found impdat displays the reminding message that the user has previously entered and asks if the message is to be kept or deleted. The program then allows the user to enter more dates and messages if desired. Impdat currently has an array capacity of 75 dates due to space requirements on my system, however this can be easily expanded. It was written in Fortran IV v2.2 and is running as a user task on a PDP 11/34, RSX11-M version 3.2. Modifications to improve it are welcome. I have included a sample impdat.fil for formating and testing purposes. Warning: please look though the fortran source file as I have made some modifications in order to reduce the size of the task image. John F.
