To: sy.fdc at CU20B cc: GSB3.L-Sweet at CU20A Well, with help from Richard Li of the Learning Center, we finally got Apple CP/M Kermit to run. It turns out that the Microsoft CP/M card (of all things) doesn't like to be anywhere but slot 4 or 5 to work with Kermit. It works fine for everything (we know of) else, but not Kermit. Perhaps this should be added to the documentation! I now surmise (ain't hindsight wonderful?) that the card doesn't like slot 2 or 3 because of their CP/M uses: 2 is RDR/PUN and 3 is TTY: (80 col card, etc.). HOWEVER, the Microsoft documentation does explicitly state that 'any unused slot can be used for the Softcard.' So, a word to the wise is a good idea. (We found the answer by duplicating every darn thing in his set-up, with the card position being the last tried!) /Lee -------
