*A KERMIT-10 is one of a family of programs that do reliable file transfer between computers over TTY lines. For full documentation please refer to DOC:KERMIT.MAN and DOC:KERPRO.MAN. For help on individual commands type HELP . For a list of the legal commands just type ?. *CONNECT CONNECT Connect the terminal to the terminal line specified in the command or the last SET LINE command. This allows you to log into and get KERMIT running on the other system. *EXIT EXIT Exit from KERMIT back to the host operating system. *HELP HELP Print instructions on various commands available in KERMIT. *QUIT QUIT Same as EXIT. *RECEIVE RECEIVE Receive a file or file group from the remote host. If an incoming file name is not legal, then attempt to transform it to a similar legal name, e.g. by deleting illegal or excessive characters. If the file already exists, it will be superceded unless FILE-WARNING is ON. *SEND SEND Sends a file from the DEC-10 to the remote host. The name of the file is passed to the remote host in a special control packet, so that the remote host can store it with the same name. Wildcarding and multiple files are not yet supported. *SET SET Establish various system-dependent parameters, such as maximum packet length, debugging mode, transmission delay, etc. For a list of keywords, type SET ?. *SHOW SHOW Display various system-dependent parameters established by the SET command. For a list of available keywords type SHOW ?. *STATUS STATUS Give information about the last file transfer such as effective baud rate, number of characters, etc.
