G A M E . D O C =============== The GAMe command allows a common interface to games. Used in conjuction with the SCHEDULE program, it also allows the system manager to restrict game playing to specified hours. The command: GAMe gamename will cause a timesharing chain to the task file: LB:[3,3]gamename.TSK If the file does not exist, the program reports that the game does not exist. If a privilege violation occurs opening the task file, the program informs the user that games may not be run at this time. To restrict games, it is merely necessary to deny read access to the directory LB:[3,3] during the hours games may not be used. If the SCHEDULE program is available, the system manager may restrict game playing to outside business hours by the following two orders in the schedule file: 0111110 08:00 PIP LB:[0,0]003003.DIR/PR/WO: 0111110 18:00 PIP LB:[0,0]003003.DIR/PR/WO:R When you bring your timesharing system up, GAME must be installed by typing: SCI> INS GAME To build: --------- Execute the command file: GAME.CMD Prerequisites: -------------- IAS V3.0 timesharing FORTRAN-IV Plus V2.5 Users must be allowed to use the timesharing "chain" service.
