This set of commands will allow you to truncate source lines to a specified length and then remove all of the trailing tabs and spaces. This is useful when sources have been read in from cards or transfered over from ACD. Let FILE.EXT be the name of the file you wish to have truncated. Do the following, RUN $SLP SLP>FILE.EXT/CM:nnn=FILE.EXT / SLP>^Z > Where, nnn is the column number you wish the truncation to begin at. Note that SLP assumes that nnn is OCTAL unless followed by a decimal point and that SLP will round nnn up to the nearest tab stop, i.e. nnn =8*((nnn+7)/8).
