This is the last release of the old RMDEMO. A new RMDEMO supporting most terminals via a table driven driver is now actively supported by DEC. This version of rmdemo bears no internal resemblence to the new one. It is not now, and will not be in the future supported by DEC. It is the version of RMDEMO used for BL25(V3.2 FIELD TEST) of RSX11M. It works well(no bugs) and has the following advantage. the new RMDEMO is about twice the size of this version. Users with small systems or with insufficient core may have trouble justifying running the new RMDEMO. This version maintains the original small size of RMDEMO and modifies the display page to provide the same information as the new RMDEMO(ie worst case pool statistics). Note well users's with good ideas. DEC does take suggestions. The worst case pool display in RMDEMO was implemented when V3.1 came out. The suggestion that it would be good to incorporate it into RMDEMO was sent to DEC. They thought it was a good idea, and now it is in the new table driven RMDEMO. So if you have a good idea, pass it along. It may help you and the user community in the long run. In addition this version provides the same facility to replot The screen or exit via a keyboard command. If an 'R' is typed, RMDEMO will SPAWN a RUN 'taskname' command to MCR(where 'taskname' is its installed taskname) and exit. If an 'X' is typed it will exit and erase the screen. Unsolicited AST recognition and the SPAWN directive are required for these features. The RSX11M development group explicitly releases this version for use by the RSX community. It should run on any VT52 or VT100 in VT52 mode on either V3.1 or V3.2. The enhancements to the display, etc, are brought to you courtisy of KMS FUSION, INC. RMDEMO.CMD can create 4 versions of RMDEMO. One that runs on a VT52, one that runs on a VT100 in ANSI mode, one that will display once to a non-crt terminal, and one that will display once to a non-crt terminal and write its output to a file LS:RMDLOG.LST. This version of RMDEMO can not be assembled for use on a VT05 because the display requires 21 lines. This change was made to add the worst case pool display information.
