LOADABLE MCRDRIVER -- EDDRV Included on this distribution tape is a prototype MCR driver with a loadable data base. As it was implemented before V3.1 RSX11M, it includes the ability to return a user's logon UIC. It is intended that this driver will be developed into a general tool for returning information from the EXECUTIVE without having to write a specialized privleged task. The source files are EDDRV.MAC and EDTAB.MAC For those who would like to issue MCR commands from a task but who do not have loadable driver support in their system and who don't want to do another SYSGEN for a while, we are including the source file for MCRUN. Once MCRUN is built and installed in the user's system, any task can send an ASCII MCR command to MCRUN using the SEND directive. Note, that the maximum lenght of an MCR command sent in this manner is limited by the length of the direc- tive's buffer to 24 characters. A rewrite of MCRUN using memory management directives could overcome this restriction. For now however, the first word of the send buffer is unused. Words 2-13 are a packed ASCII MCR command. NOTE: EDDRV as supplied recognizes only terminal numbers 0-6. To change the number of terminals, the source must be edited to change the terminal number table at the end of EDDRV.MAC.
