HP Instant TopTools is a standalone browser-based tool for monitoring your HP NetServer.

HP NetServer Product Family
HP Instant TopTools provides web pages that include information about your HP NetServer. When an administrator views these pages from a web browser on a management console or at the server, software running on the HP NetServer collects the information in real-time and updates the web pages.
All events (changes in the status of your server) are stored in your HP NetServer's System Event Log. These events may be viewed while the server is up and running by viewing the Event Log under the Status tab in HP Instant TopTools. You may also opt to install HP TopTools Auto Alert on your management console if you wish to be alerted to server events as they occur.
Note Agents software shipped with your HP NetServer and required for HP TopTools Device Manager and HP TopTools AutoAlert are not required for Instant TopTools. However, with the agents software installed you will additionally be able to receive predictive events, all HP mass storage events (array and backup), and NIC events otherwise only obtainable through HP TopTools Device Manager or TopTools AutoAlert. For more about agent software, refer to the HP TopTools for Servers Administrator Guide or the Agents readme file under the Manage\Server subdirectory on the HP NetServer Navigator CD.
An administrator can view information about an HP NetServer by launching the HP Instant TopTools application:
http://servername:280where servername represents the host name, NetBIOS name, or IP address of the server.
Server details. From the server's Identity page you can get useful information about your server to help maintain, troubleshoot and inventory your system. This information includes the server's serial number, BIOS version, network address, and DNS name.
At-a-glance hardware status. Server hardware status is available at anytime from the Status page. Memory modules, mass storage controllers, disk drives and power supplies are identified and monitored to alert you to potential problems.
Server component diagnostics. If a hard disk or memory module fails, or is about to fail (predictive feature available with most HP NetServers), the Hard Disk Status and Memory Status pages provide tools to guide you through the steps to precisely identify the drive or memory module in question to save you time.
Server configuration information. Details about the configuration of each server is easily viewed through the Configuration page. Both hardware (cards installed and resources used), NOS, and management software details are listed in addition to driver and firmware versions that help you determine what's running and if an update is warranted.
Report summary. With the large amount of information available about your server, it's handy to be able to see it all in a listing that can be easily read and printed out. The Report page is a superset of identity and status details on your server.
Online and offline tools. A handy list of available online (while the server is up and working) and offline (when the server is taken down for low level configuration or updating) tools are available from the Tools page. The function of each tool is described and where to find it.
Support links. Hewlett-Packard is committed to providing you with the tools you need to keep your server up and running. Details and handy links to HP world-wide-web support pages may be found on the Support Page.
